Athens 2014 Fabulous Fourth

The Athens 2014 Fabulous Fourth Hosted by the Athens City, Athens Township Trustees and the Lions Clubs of Athens County starts this Thursday July 3rd with a pool party, cruise in, kids games and bouncy castles, a veteran’s tribute and a live broadcast from Power 105 starting at 8pm!  And bring a radio! We are proud to once again simulcast the music to the fire fireworks!

Then don’t miss the FABULOUS FOURTH PARADE starting at 9:30 Friday! See below for a complete schedule!

July 3

10:00am – 8pm – Athens City Pool open; free admission. Bring a food donation.

3:00pm – Fabulous 4th King & Queen Judging inside the Athens Community Center (Buy votes for $1/per, to benefit the Athens Food Pantries)

5:30pm – 10:00pm – Cruise In at The Athens Community Center, 701 E. State St., Athens

6:00pm – Crowning of Fabulous 4th Senior (55 and older) King & Queen

6:30pm – 9:00pm – Kids games  and bouncy castles

7:00pm – Flag raising and Veteran’s  tribute at Veteran’s Memorial Park, behind Athens City Pool

7:00pm – 9:00pm -Teen pool party sponsored by Athens and Alexander Leo Clubs

9:00pm – 11:00pm – WATH/WXTQ remote broadcast at The Market on State

10:00pm – FIREWORKS! E. State St. (turn on your radio to Power 105 for simulcast music)

All evening, food donations will be accepted for the Athens County Food Pantry

July 4

8:30am – Fabulous Fourth Parade LINEUP in E. Washing and College Streets near Athens City Building


10:00am – 8pm – Athens City Pool open; free admission. Please bring a food donation

**Parade Route – Along E. Washington St., right onto Court St., right onto E. Carpenter St., left onto E. State St., right onto Morris Ave., left onto May Ave. Parade concludes at Athens Library
