Athens Police are looking for a man who tried to rob a gas station attendant as he closed for the night.
Police say a man confronted the attendent around 9 p. m. Tuesday at Seaman’s Grocery gas station on West Union Street.
Police report the suspect grabbed the cash drawer, but during the confrontation, the contents of the drawer were spilled onto the parking lot.
The suspect fled on foot and officers do not believe he escaped with any cash.
The man is described as white with a tall thin build, wearing a ski mask and dark colored clothing.
