An unusual find on a Florida beach has wildlife officials scratching their head.
A blue eye the size of a softball was found Wednesday by a man at Pompano Beach, north of Fort Lauderdale.
The eyeball was put on ice so it can be analyzed at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute in Saint Petersburg.
An agency spokeswoman says the eyeball likely came from a marine animal -possibly a giant squid, a whale or some large fish.
