The AAA Auto Club says a free New Year’s Eve towing service for drunk drivers isn’t available in most of Ohio.
Details of the “Tipsy Tow” program – where Triple-A-affiliated trucks give inebriated motorists a free tow and a ride – have been widely posted on Facebook and other social media in recent days.
But, AAA Ohio says it doesn’t provide the service because its main mission is to provide emergency road service, and New Year’s Eve is a big night for that.
Also, the auto club says there are other ways to keep drunk drivers off the road.
“Tipsy Tow” is being offered only in eight counties covered by AAA Northwest Ohio.
