Wayne National Forest: Children’s Educational Program Features Amphibians

Nelsonville, Ohio – Spring has sprung here on the Wayne National Forest and the Wild Weekend Discovery Series is a great way to bring in the season!

 Come explore the amazing world of amphibians on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Wayne National Forest Headquarters located off US Hwy 33 between Nelsonville and The Plains. Learn all about frogs, salamanders and their habitats! Did you know amphibians drink and breathe through their skin and that toads blink to help them swallow! Discover these amazing creatures and how they have adapted to their world!

Bring your children and enjoy this free fun-filled educational program that’s designed for preschool to 5th grade. This one hour program has two starting times, one at 10am and another at noon.  Space is limited to 15 seats per session, so please pre-register by calling (740) 753-0101.  As always, please remember to bring your Smokey card if you have one. After your sixth visit, you will receive a patch!
