Authorities say storms have brought high winds that are damaging barns and trees in northwest Ohio and causing power outages throughout the state – including here in southeast Ohio.
The State Highway Patrol says several barns have been damaged in Wapakoneta and a spokeswoman for the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office says trees have been leveled.
FirstEnergy Corp. reports over 10-thousand outages early this morning and AEP’s outage map shows about 36,000 without power. That includes over 1,300 in Athens County, just over 660 in Morgan County, over 900 in Perry County, and about 130 in Jackson County.
Morrow County E-M-A Director Joe Edward tells says there have been two reports of possible tornado touchdowns in that central Ohio county.
