One of three people injured in a weekend motorcycle crash has died.
The State Highway Patrol says 51-year-old June Rae Murray of Virginia Beach died overnight Sunday at a Columbus hospital.
The patrol says Murray was thrown from her motorcycle Saturday morning on U-S 33 near the Wayne National Forest Headquarters.
The patrol says Murray and 48-year-old Raymond Flynn were traveling westbound on U-S 33 with a group of motorcyclists.
Troopers say Murray’s cycle struck Flynn’s bike from behind at about 45 mph. Flynn and his passenger, 48-year-old Erika Flynn, were also thrown from their motorcycle.
Erika Flynn was the only one wearing a helmet, but still sustained injuries.
All three were taken to O’Bleness Memorial Hospital by Athens County EMS, then flown by MedFlight helicopter to Grant Medical Center.
The patrol says the Flynns are in stable condition.
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
