The Cleveland Browns edged the San Diego Chargers yesterday, 7-6. The Browns jumped out to an early lead as Trent Richardson took it 26-yards on the ground for a touchdown in the first quarter. Points came at a premium in this game as San Diego hit a field goal just before the half and one in the third quarter to cut the lead to one. However, the Browns defense would hold down the stretch and stop the Chargers on their final drive to give Cleveland their second win of the season. The Browns will now host Baltimore on Sunday at 1.

Elsewhere in the NFL, Chicago edged Carolina, 23-22. Detroit bested Seattle, 28-24. Green Bay topped Jacksonville, 24-15. Miami toppled the New York Jets, 30-9. Atlanta handled Philadelphia, 30-17. The San Francisco Giants outlasted the Detroit Tigers, 4-3 in extra innings to sweep the World Series. The Giants got on the board first on a Brandon Belt RBI triple in the second. However, the Tigers would get their first lead of the series in the third when Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homer. Buster Posey would respond with a homer in the sixth to give the Giants the lead back, but Delmon Young answered in the bottom half to tie the game up. But in the top of the tenth, Marco Scutaro delivered an RBI single that would win the game for San Francisco. The Giants have now won their seventh World Series in franchise history and their second in the last three years.
