The Ohio Bobcats return to action for a huge MAC East matchup tonight at Peden Stadium against Bowling Green. It is a blackout game and senior night for the Bobcats and center Skylar Allen says that it will be an emotional night and a crucial game for Ohio. The Bobcats will face the best defense in the MAC in BGSU and a defensive lineman in Chris Jones that leads the nation with 11.5 sacks. Ohio controls their own destiny for a return trip to the MAC title game and the road to Detroit continues tonight. The game can be heard on Power 105 with pregame at 6:30 with the Bobcat Insider and kickoff at 8 on the Flagship for the Cats.

In NCAA basketball news, two Indiana freshman basketball players will spend the first nine games on the sidelines as they serve a nine game suspension for receiving impermissible benefits they received before arriving on campus. The two, Hanner Mosquera-Perea and Peter Jurkin will have to repay the benefits as well. Indiana is the preseason top ranked team. The Ohio Bobcats open their season on Saturday afternoon as they host Portland. The game can be heard on Power 105 with pregame at 1:30 and tip off at 2.
In NBA play last night, Denver handled Detroit, 109-97. Chicago bested Orlando, 99-93 and Oklahoma City blasted Toronto, 108-88. The Cleveland Cavaliers return to action tonight as they head to Golden State at 10:30.
The NHL and its Players Association finished a long day of meetings yesterday and plan to meet again today. Neither side would talk after the meetings in New York, but the league did mention that meetings went late into the night. The league did not disclose any of the details of the meetings. No formal deal proposals were exchanged yesterday. The sides are said to be split on dealings with player contracts and honoring existing player contracts with a deferred payment method.
