The Athens County Game of the Week returns to Power 105 tonight as Nelsonville-York travels to Vinton County for a TVC-Ohio battle. The Buckeyes have won six in a row and sit at third in the conference and will look to stay alive in the conference title race. However, the experienced Vikings have won the past two conference crowns and sit tied atop the conference. The Buckeyes and Vikings clash on Power 105 tonight with pre game at 7:15 and tip off at 7:30.
The Athens Bulldogs return to action tonight as they travel to non-conference rival Logan. The Bulldogs have been red hot lately, having won seven straight and will look to gain even more momentum with the playoffs right around the corner. However, the upset-minded Chieftans are looking for revenge on their home floor for a loss to Athens last week. The Bulldogs and Chieftans battle tonight on 970 WATH and 97.1 FM with pre game at 7:15 and tip off at 7:30.
In other area boys basketball tonight, Trimble heads to Wahama. Southern is at Miller. Wellston heads to Zane Trace. Fairland travels to Meigs. Belpre welcomes South Gallia and Waterford hosts Eastern.
The Ohio Bobcats learned yesterday that they will take on the Belmont Bruins in the 2013 Bracket Buster on Saturday, February 23rd at 10 pm. The Bobcats and Bruins will be one of the top games in the showcase and Belmont is the highest ranked team in the Bracket Buster. The game can be heard on Power 105. Also, the Cats return to action tomorrow night as they head to Ball State. The game can be heard on Power 105 with pre game at 6:30 and tip off at 7.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defenseman Adrian Aucoin on injured reserve and recalled defenseman Cody Goloubef from the AHL. Aucoin suffered a lower body injury on January 29th and is listed as day-to-day. Goloubef has tallied four goals in 21 games with Springfield. The Jackets return to action tonight as they host Los Angeles at 7.
In NBA action last night, Philadelphia bested Orlando, 78-61. Washington defeated the LA Clippers, 98-90. Indiana toppled Chicago, 111-101. New York handled Detroit, 99-85. Miami ousted Charlotte, 99-94. Oklahoma City dominated Dallas, 112-91. Portland edged Minnesota, 100-98 and Utah outlasted Sacramento, 98-91 in overtime.
