The Western Conference All-Stars topped the Eastern Conference, 143-138 last night in the NBA All-Star game. The game was close throughout, with the West leading by four going into the fourth quarter. A pair of Kyrie Irving treys would bring the East close, but Chris Paul would catch fire late to pull away and give the Western conference the win. Cavs guard Kyrie Irving scored 15 points with 4 assists. The All-Star game MVP was given to Chris Paul, who scored 20 points and 15 assists.
The Ohio State Buckeyes fell to the Wisconsin Badgers yesterday, 71-49. The 20th ranked Badgers dominated from the opening tip, leading by 17 at the break behind 52 percent shooting on the afternoon. Ohio State would try to claw back into the game, but Wisconsin would pull away in the second half, leading by as many as 30. The Buckeyes struggled offensively, shooting 37 percent. Ohio State was led by Deshaun Thomas with 18 points. The Buckeyes will now host Minnesota on Wednesday night at 7.
In other NCAA Top 25 action yesterday, #3 Miami edged Clemson, 45-43. #4 Michigan outlasted Penn State, 79-71. #9 Arizona clipped Utah, 68-64 and #12 Louisville handled South Florida, 59-41.
Ohio Bobcats Softball went 1-1 yesterday to finish their road trip in Las Vegas with a record of 3-1. The Bobcats blew past Louisiana-Monroe, 15-6, but fell to #18 UCLA, 11-2. The Bobcats were led on the day by Caitlin Colvin with three homers. Bobcat softball returns to action on Friday as they head to Chattanooga, TN.
The Ohio Bobcat basketball team returns to action on Wednesday as they host Eastern Michigan. The game can be heard on Power 105 with pre game at 6:06 with the Bobcat Insider and tip off at 7.
In NHL play last night, the New York Rangers edged Washington, 2-1. Minnesota clipped Detroit, 3-2. Calgary snuck past Dallas, 4-3. Boston bested Winnipeg, 3-2. Pittsburgh defeated Buffalo, 4-3 and Chicago ousted the LA Kings, 3-2.
The Columbus Blue Jackets hit the ice tonight as they continue their road trip in Anaheim. The Ducks have gotten out to a red-hot start to the season, sitting at 11-2 and have won four straight. The Jackets have lost five of their last six, but would love to turn things around on the road. The Jackets and Ducks meet on 970 WATH tonight with pre game at 9:45 and drop of the puck at 10.
