The Cleveland Indians blasted the Boston Red Sox, 12-3 last night. The Indians took a 1-0 lead in the second on a Drew Stubbs RBI double, but added three more in the third on a Mark Reynolds RBI base hit. The Red Sox responded with three in the bottom half, but Cleveland broke the game open with six runs in the sixth on RBI hits from Mark Reynolds, Yan Gomes and Michael Bourn as well as an RBI triple from Drew Stubbs. The Indians are now 27-19 and will take on Boston tonight with Justin Masterson dueling against Jon Lackey at 7.

The Cincinnati Reds are back in action tonight as they host the Chicago Cubs. Bronson Arroyo will toe the rubber for the Reds taking on Scott Feldman. The game can be heard on 970 WATH with pre game at 6:40 and first pitch at 7:10.

Elsewhere in the MLB, the LA Angels clipped Kansas City, 5-4. Toronto toppled Baltimore, 12-6. Pittsburgh defeated the Chicago Cubs, 4-2 and Detroit came back to beat Minnesota, 7-6.

The Cincinnati Bengals signed second-round pick running back Giovani Bernard from North Carolina yesterday. The four-year contract is worth $5.23 million. Bernard averaged 5.9 yards per carry and scored 31 touchdowns in two seasons with the Tar Heels. The signing comes a day after the signing of second round pick defensive lineman Margus Hunt. The only two remaining unsigned draft picks are top pick tight end Tyler Eifert and third round safety Shawn Williams.

The Columbus Blue Jackets and goalie Sergei Bobrovsky have begun communication regarding a new contract for the star, but the sides are no closer to reaching a deal. Bobrovsky can become a restricted free agent in July and he is expecting a raise from his current contract of $1.7 million.

In NHL Stanley Cup playoff action last night, the New York Rangers edged Boston, 4-3 to cut the Boston series lead to 3-1 and Detroit took a 3-1 series lead over Chicago with a 2-0 victory.
