The Cincinnati Reds toppled the Cleveland Indians last night, 8-2. The Reds jumped on the Tribe early, scoring three times in the first on RBI singles from Joey Votto and Xavier Paul. The Indians would cut the lead to two in the fifth on a Michael Bourn RBI single, but the Redlegs pushed the game out of reach in the seventh on RBI base hits from Jack Hannahan, Derrick Robinson and Zack Cozart. Cincinnati will now travel to Cleveland tonight. Bronson Arroyo will duel with Justin Masterson. The game can be heard on 970 WATH with pre game at 6:35 and first pitch at 7:05.
Elsewhere in the MLB, St. Louis bested Kansas City, 4-1. Tampa Bay clipped Miami, 7-6. Philadelphia topped Boston, 3-1. Pittsburgh outlasted Detroit, 1-0 in 11 innings. Washington blew past Baltimore, 9-3. The New York Mets edged the New York Yankees, 2-1. Atlanta ousted Toronto, 7-6 in 10 innings. Colorado snuck past Houston, 2-1 and the LA Dodgers blanked the LA Angels, 3-0.
In NBA playoff action last night, the Indiana Pacers tied the series with Miami at two with a 99-92 win. The Pacers were led by Roy Hibbert with 23 points and 12 rebounds. LeBron James fouled out of the game late in the fourth quarter. Game five is on Thursday night at 8:30 in Miami.
In the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs, the LA Kings edged San Jose, 2-1 to capture a series victory and advance to the Western Conference Finals.
