The Cleveland Indians toppled the Cincinnati Reds last night, 7-1. The Indians did their damage in the fourth, scoring seven times with six runs with two outs. The Tribe tallied runs on RBI singles from Michael Brantley, Yan Gomes and Jason Kipnis and RBI doubles from Ryan Raburn, Michael Bourn and Asdrubal Cabrera. The Reds only run of the night came on a Jay Bruce RBI single in the sixth. Tribe hurler Scott Kazmir was solid, throwing seven innings and giving up just one run while scattering eight hits with five strikeouts. The Indians will now host Tampa Bay tonight at 7. The Reds will head to Pittsburgh tonight. Johnny Cueto will take the hill against Wandy Rodriguez. The game can be heard on 970 WATH with pre game at 6:35 and first pitch at 7:05.
Elsewhere in the MLB last night, Houston bested Colorado, 7-5. Minnesota outlasted Milwaukee, 8-6. Tampa Bay defeated Miami, 5-2. Atlanta toppled Toronto, 11-3. Pittsburgh clipped Detroit, 1-0 in 11 innings. Boston blew past Philadelphia, 9-2. Baltimore blanked Washington, 2-0. The New York Mets topped the New York Yankees, 3-1. San Francisco ousted Oakland, 5-2. Seattle dominated San Diego, 7-1. The Chicago Cubs handled the Chicago White Sox, 8-3 and Texas bested Arizona, 9-5.
In NBA playoff action last night, the Miami Heat took a 3-2 series lead over the Indiana Pacers with a 90-79 win. The Heat were led by LeBron James with 30 points and eight rebounds. The Heat and Indiana will meet for game six on Saturday night at 8:30.
