The Cincinnati Reds toppled the Chicago Cubs last night, 6-2. The Reds took a quick lead in the first, scoring on a Brandon Phillips RBI single. However, Cincinnati would blow the game wide open in the third on a Phillips grand slam. The Cubs scored their only run in the sixth on an infield single, but the Cubs struggled against Homer Bailey, who threw eight innings giving up one unearned run on four hits with eight strikeouts. The Reds will continue their series in Chicago tonight. Tony Cingrani will take the hill against Matt Garza. The game can be heard on 970 WATH with pre game at 7:35 and first pitch at 8:05.
The Cleveland Indians fell for the eighth straight time last night, 6-3 to the Texas Rangers. The Rangers got on the board first, but the Indians answered on a Carlos Santana three-run double in the third. But the Rangers came right back on a Jeff Baker two-run homer to tie it in the fourth and a Lance Berkman two-run shot in the seventh. The Indians will battle Texas again tonight at 8.
Elsewhere in the MLB, Kansas City clipped Detroit, 3-2. Milwaukee toppled Miami, 6-1 and Baltimore edged the LA Angels, 4-3.
The Southern Ohio Copperheads are back in action tonight as they welcome the Xenia Scouts to Bob Wren Stadium. The Copperheads have come out of the gates fast, winning their first four games and will look to stay undefeated. The game can be heard on Power 105 with pre game at 7:15 and first pitch at 7:30.
Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was arrested on one count of assault after police say he punched a woman outside of a Cincinnati bar last week. Jones was arrested yesterday afternoon. Jones tweeted that he was just defending himself and is set to be arraigned this afternoon.
