However, in the sixth the Reds responded on a Brandon Phillips RBI single. Then, in the seventh, Cincinnati took the lead for good on a Todd Frazier solo dinger. The Reds got stellar pitching from Mike Leake, who threw eight innings, giving up just one run on three hits with six strikeouts. The Reds take on Chicago again today. Mat Latos will toe the rubber against Jeff Samardzija. The game can be heard on 970 WATH with pre game at 1:50 and first pitch at 2:20.

The Cleveland Indians won their second in a row, 5-2 over the Texas Rangers last night. The Tribe jumped out to the early lead, tacking on two in the second on a Mike Aviles two-run homer and one in the third on a Michael Brantley RBI single. After the Rangers cut the lead to two in the third, Jason Kipnis hit a solo blast and Carlos Santana smashed an RBI double to give the Indians a solid lead. The Tribe will have today off before hosting Washington on Friday night at 7.

Elsewhere in the MLB, Washington bested Colorado, 5-1. Minnesota edged Philadelphia, 4-3. Boston clipped Tampa Bay, 2-1. Milwaukee dominated Miami, 10-1. The New York Mets ousted St. Louis, 5-1.
