The Cincinnati Reds fell to the Seattle Mariners yesterday, 3-1. The Mariners were on the board in the first on a Nick Franklin solo homer and pushed the lead out to three on a Justin Smoak two-run bomb in the third. The Reds would cut into the lead on a Chris Heisey RBI double in the seventh, but it would not be enough. Joe Saunders shut down the Reds offense, scattering six hits over seven innings and giving up one run. The Reds will now head to Milwaukee. Homer Bailey will duel with Kyle Lohse. The game can be heard on 970 WATH with pre game at 7:40 and first pitch at 8:10.

The Cleveland Indians outlasted the Detroit Tigers yesterday, 9-6. The Indians jumped on the Tigers early, with home runs from Carlos Santana, Lonnie Chisenhall and Michael Brantley to take a 6-1 lead in the sixth. However, Detroit came right back with a three-run homer from Torii Hunter to tie the game in the eighth. But in the bottom half, Cleveland answered on a Brantley two-run homer that would win the game. The Indians will take on Detroit again tonight at 7.
