Cincinnati cut the lead to seven late in the third on a Giovani Bernard three-yard touchdown run and tied it on a 35-yard run from Bernard in the fourth. Mike Nugent drilled a 54-yard field goal with a minute to go, but Miami drove down the field and Caleb Sturgis tied it on a field goal with seconds left. After a couple of drives stalled, the Bengals were pinned down deep in their own territory and Cameron Wake came up big sacking Andy Dalton in the endzone for a safety to win it.
