The OHSAA released the final state football poll yesterday. In Division III, Athens finished at #4 with one first place vote after a perfect season. The Bulldogs host Logan Elm in the first round of the playoffs on Friday night. The game can be heard on Power 105 and 970 WATH with pre game at 7:15 and kick at 7:30. Meanwhile, in Division VII, Trimble came in at #3 after finishing an undefeated regular season. The Tomcats host Beallsville in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday night on Power 105 with pre game at 6:45 and kick at 7.
The Cleveland Cavaliers ousted the Minnesota Timberwolves last night, 93-92. The Cavs dominated the majority of the game, leading by 17 at the half and holding the Timberwolves to just 38 points in the first half. However, with a 15 point lead and a few minutes remaining, Minnesota came storming back to cut the lead to one late. A Kevin Love three ball with seconds left did not go through and Cleveland held on to win. The Cavs were led by Kyrie Irving with 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Cleveland will now head to Milwaukee on Wednesday night at 8.
Elsewhere in the NBA, Memphis bested Boston, 95-88. Golden State dominated Philadelphia, 110-90 and the LA Clippers blew past Houston, 137-118.
The Ohio Bobcats hit the road tonight as they travel to Buffalo to take on the Bulls, who are undefeated in the MAC. It is a must-win game for both sides as far as a MAC title goes and the Ohio offense has been rolling of late. The game can be heard on Power 105 tonight with pre game at 6:30 with the Bobcat Insider and the kick at 8.
On Monday Night Football last night, the Chicago Bears upset Green Bay, 27-20.
The Columbus Blue Jackets return to action tonight as they host the Ottawa Senators. Both teams have struggled lately and the Senators are winless in their last five and without their starting goalie. Meanwhile, the Jackets have lost three in a row, including a pair to Pittsburgh over the weekend. The Jackets and Senators battle tonight on 970 WATH with pre game at 6:45 and drop of the puck at 7.
In other NHL action last night, Winnipeg topped Detroit, 4-2 and Anaheim edged the New York Rangers, 2-1.
