Ohio women’s basketball was blown away by #4 ranked Louisville last night, 90-33. Ohio struggled shooting all night, hitting 18 percent from the field and 2 of 25 from behind the arc on the evening. The Lady Cats were led by freshman Quiera Lampkins with 13 points on the night. The Lady Cats will now head to Eastern Kentucky on Saturday at 4.
In NCAA top 25 action last night, Florida State upset #10 VCU, 85-67. #12 Wisconsin handled Bowling Green, 88-64. #13 Gonzaga blew past Washington State, 90-74. #14 Michigan toppled Long Beach State, 85-61. #16 Florida dominated Middle Tennessee State, 79-59. #18 UConn edged Boston Collegoe, 72-70. #19 New Mexico outlasted UAB, 97-94 in double overtime and #25 Marquette snuck past New Hampshire, 58-53.
In NFL Thursday night action last night, New Orleans clipped Atlanta, 17-13.
The Athens Bulldogs have their eye on a regional crown tonight as they battle Marion Franklin in the Division 3 regional finals at Logan High School. The Bulldogs are coming off of a close win in overtime over Tri Valley last week and will face their toughest test in the speed and size of the Red Devils. The Bulldogs and Marion Franklin clash tonight on Power 105 and 970 WATH. Pre game coverage starts at 7:15 with the kick at 7:30.
The Trimble Tomcats magical season continues tomorrow night in the Division 7 regional finals as they battle Shadyside at Zanesville High School. The Mohawk Mafia have featured a strong defensive attack, but will be tested on Saturday by the three headed monster that is the Tigers’ rushing attack. In NHL play yesterday, San Jose blasted Tampa Bay, 5-1. New Jersey ousted the LA Kings, 2-1 in overtime. Edmonton toppled Florida, 4-1. Colorado outlasted Phoenix, 4-3 in overtime. The New York Rangers clipped Dallas, 3-2. Detroit snuck past Carolina, 4-3. Philadelphia blew past Buffalo, 4-1. Nashville defeated Toronto, 4-2. Chicago dominated Winnipeg, 6-3 and St. Louis clipped Boston, 3-2 in a shootout.
