Ohio basketball ousted Mercer last night, 76-67. The Bobcats trailed by nine midway through the first, but came storming back to take a 9 point lead into the half. In the first half, Ohio shot 19 of 20 from the free throw line to hold the lead. Meanwhile, the Cats pulled away in the second half, leading by as many as 20 to pick up their fifth win of the season. The Cats were led by Maurice Ndour with 23 points and 11 rebounds as well as Jon Smith with 16 points. Ohio will now host Evansville on Saturday with pre game coverage starting on Power 105 at 1:30 and the tip off at 2. Also, Ohio football is back in action on Friday as they host UMass. That game can be heard on Power 105 with pre game at 12:30 with the Bobcat Insider and the kick at 2.
In NCAA basketball top 25 action last night, #8 Syracuse outlasted Cal, 92-81. #10 Wisconsin clipped Saint Louis, 63-57. #11 Gonzaga dominated Chaminade, 113-81. #12 Wichita State bested BYU, 75-62. #13 UConn defeated Loyola-Maryland, 76-66 and #18 Baylor edged Dayton, 67-66.
In MAC basketball last night, Bowling Green blew past Presbyterian, 67-45. Western Michigan routed Oakland, 99-88. Buffalo toppled Robert Morris, 81-66 and Central Michigan ousted Texas A&M Corpus Christi, 68-64.
The Columbus Blue Jackets return to action tonight as they host Nashville. The Jackets are coming off of a dominating win on Monday night in Toronto and are looking to pick up momentum against a Predators squad that has won four of their last five. The game can be heard on 970 WATH with pre game at 6:45 and drop of the puck at 7.
In NBA action last night, Golden State edged New Orleans, 102-101. Orlando toppled Atlanta, 109-92. Washington outlasted the LA Lakers, 116-111 and Brooklyn snuck past Toronto, 102-100.
